Opportunity Marketplace
A brand new section of the Sumtotal web application
The Problem: The purpose was to create an internal job board, which would exist as a place to earn additional income. Initial research identified the need for both gig and internal positions, with a focus on allowing users to earn additional money without having to look outside their current company.
Inspiration
External job boards used for researching the kind of information important to the job seeker.
The most important search data was title, location, and date.
First Concept
Viewing potential gigs was the first user flow I began with. I designed the job listings as filterable tiles. As this page is internal, it differs from external job boards in that the user may likely be using this during the workday. Therefore, the process should be able to be quick and easy as to not interfere with their primary job. This iteration used a search bar and selectable filters to help users navigate through different job or gig postings.
Second Concept: Homepage
A home page was added where users landed when they came to the Opportunity Marketplace.
This design put the search bar front and center, but also allowed users to view their previous searches with a click or to see gigs recommended by the system.
The filters were updated to drop downs to allow for more options.
An emphasis was placed on remote versus location-based positions, as users will already be working for this company and likely have their location preferences set.
Additional Flows
While the job board aspect of the Opportunity Marketplace is key, additional screens were needed. Job creation, profile creation, and current gigs/jobs flows were also created.
This is the final profile design.
Overall, the Opportunity Marketplace design allows for users to search, filter, apply and track gigs, as well as advertise themselves internally within their own organization, through the user profile page.
